Saturday, September 12, 2009
The golf tournament on September 11 to benefit the LOW Lions Club’s many charitable services was a huge success, thanks to the 103 golfers who participated and the 55 businesses and individuals who were sponsors of the event at the LOW Golf Course.
The tournament produced net proceeds of $8,100 for the LOW Lions Club’s benevolence fund, which supports sight and hearing programs and other charitable activities at LOW and the surrounding area.
Three teams posted scores of 60, but the tie was broken by comparing back-nine scores. The winning team, with a back-nine score of 29, was Tim Grant, Dan Cronin, Jerry Hoehn, and Gary Schwartz. Second, with a 30, was the team of Mike Melcho, Mike Phillips, John Lockhart, and Skip Bond. Third place, with a 31, went to the team of Dan Trull, Patrick Smith, Chris Neyvesky, and John Holmes. The first and second-place teams received free rounds of golf for a foursome at Meadows and Lake of the Woods golf courses.
